Birkdale Cheese Centre was founded by Nora and Sam Fashoni.

While Sam was away at War, Nora worked on a cheese stall in Southport Market. The owner of the stall passed it to Nora and together they built a very sucessfull business.

The time came to move into a shop, one fell empty on Liverpool Road, Birkdale;
they named it "The Cheese Centre".

According to Sam (an ex-Regimental Officer and Prison Guard) “People came far and wide; our cheese was the best for miles.”
